InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG®), one of the world’s leading hotel companies, has announced the signing of Holiday Inn® Moscow – Seligerskaya. The hotel will operate under a management agreement with Amtel Properties and will open early next year.
Rebranded from the Iris Congress Hotel, Holiday Inn Moscow – Seligerskaya will be located on Korovinskoye Shosse, north of Moscow. The hotel is connected to the A104 motorway which has a direct link to the central business district as well as a new motorway linking the hotel to Moscow Sheremetyevo airport. Holiday Inn Moscow – Seligerskaya will also be nearby a new metro station opening next year making the journey to Moscow’s city attractions less than 30minutes.
The 201-room hotel (inclusive of 25 suites) will feature an all-day dining restaurant, and an indoor swimming pool, fitness centre and sauna. It also has extensive meeting facilities; inclusive of three boardrooms, four meeting rooms, a banqueting room for 70 people and a ballroom for over 300 people. Holiday Inn Moscow – Seligerskaya will also feature the brand’s signature Open Lobby in an impressive atrium spanning eight floors.
Once open, Holiday Inn Moscow – Seligerskaya will join seven other IHG hotels already open in Moscow, including five Holiday Inn hotels. In 2014 IHG signed two more hotels in Moscow: Holiday Inn Express® Moscow - Sheremetyevo Airport and Holiday Inn Express® Moscow - Vereyskaya.
The Holiday Inn Open Lobby takes a unique approach to the in-hotel experience for guests, which has transformed the traditional hotel lobby format by combining the front desk, lobby, restaurant, bar, lounge area and business centre into one open, cohesive space, while refreshing the design to give it a more contemporary feel.
The Holiday Inn Open Lobby complements findings from the 2013 travel insights report by IHG which reveals the emergence of a new breed of business travellers who are not constrained by traditional office working routines and don’t necessarily work the typical 9-5 hours. Coined the “laptop and latte workers”, they prefer creative coffee-house-style environments where they can be inspired by meeting other travellers while they work on their own laptops and smart phones. The 24/7 To Go Café has been designed to give guests the flexibility to eat in, eat out or enjoy take-away items in their rooms.
